The Kitchen and the Chef

The Angel and Royal Hotel in Grantham serves modern British cooking under the direction of Executive Head Chef Kurtis Wright. At twenty-five, the Lincolnshire native began his career at fourteen and worked at Belton Woods and Ascot before joining in April 2025. He focuses on freshness and simplicity, allowing quality ingredients to drive bold flavours. This approach recently won the hotel its first AA Rosette for culinary excellence.

The King's Room and Historic Dining

The King's Room Restaurant presents British cooking framed by stone oriel windows and a nine-foot fireplace. Richard III received the Great Seal here in 1483, and a facsimile of his letter remains displayed near the dining tables. Guests also access Bertie's Bistro or the Angel Bar, where hand-crafted cocktails are served beneath a window featuring a carved pelican motif.

Rooms and Gathering Spaces

Thirty-one bedrooms offer unique layouts across grades from standard to junior suites. The irregular structure of the building gives each room a distinct character. Daytime visitors can choose between breakfast and lunch, with afternoon tea featured on the menu. The Angel Bar provides a relaxed setting for drinks throughout the day.
