Gasthaus Fischerrosl Münsing: Award-Winning Bavarian Dining by the Lake

Roots along the Starnberger See

Gasthaus Fischerrosl in Münsing builds its traditional Bavarian cooking on stone foundations that likely date back to the sixteenth century. King Ludwig II stayed at the inn and later commissioned a local author to document its history. German cartoonist Loriot also left his signature in the guestbook. A regional family guided the business for nearly a century before new management arrived in 2018.

The Seasonal Menu

The kitchen anchors its Bavarian culinary approach in produce sourced directly from surrounding fields and the lake. Fresh fish preparations sit alongside hearty meat plates that shift with the agricultural calendar. A Schlemmer Atlas reviewer recently awarded the venue one ladle for this consistent dedication to local ingredients. Vegetarian and vegan diners find dedicated dishes prepared with equal precision.

Historic Interiors and Guest Rooms

Visitors dine beneath white tablecloths inside a space that preserves its original guesthouse layout. Eleven straightforward double rooms feature private showers, flat-screen televisions, and free wireless internet throughout the building. A two-minute walk leads directly to the shallow waters of the St. Heinricher Strandbad. A paved path then extends into a fifty-four kilometre loop encircling the entire shoreline.
