The story
Eberhard Bezner opened Eberhards Restaurant in Bietigheim-Bissingen to merge his lifelong hospitality background with his family’s centuries-old trade, building a menu anchored in Mediterranean cooking. After managing the OLYMP shirt company for decades, he retired in 2010 and dedicated his energy to this riverside project. Years of international travel shaped his approach, blending those foundational flavors with precise techniques observed across Asia and Europe. The kitchen favors straightforward methods that let carefully sourced produce speak for itself.
The kitchen serves salmon trout, Wiener Schnitzel, and a robust vegan nut roast that relies on toasted seeds rather than heavy sauces. A well-known burger anchors the daytime offering, while a rotating surprise menu adapts to what arrives fresh from local markets. Seafood now occupies a central place on the board, reflecting how the Enz valley supplies its finest catches. This Mediterranean-inspired approach keeps the dinner service lively without drifting into pretension.
Wooden tables face a terrace that extends directly over the Enz, where a narrow platform holds about fifteen guests above the current. Evening light catches the nearby stone viaduct, creating a quiet backdrop for conversation. The interior balances polished furnishings with a distinctly unpretentious layout, allowing diners to relax between courses. This grounded elegance recently earned the venue two spoons from the Schlemmer Atlas guide, a recognition that matches the steady quality on display.
