The story
Boii Boii brings contemporary Thai cooking to Berlin after evolving from the well-known THAI NOODS pop-up series. Founders Nita, Peter, and Niki launched the concept in early 2024 following successful dinner parties and seasonal residencies. They wanted a permanent venue where spontaneous energy could meet consistent service. The team now operates out of Lausitzer Straße while maintaining the original event-driven approach that drew crowds during the summer months.
The menu leans toward a broader interpretation of Thai cuisine rather than strict tradition. Classic preparations still anchor the kitchen, particularly their celebrated Pad Thai and whole sea bass wrapped in banana leaf. These dishes appear alongside newer creations that balance familiar spice profiles with unexpected textures. A recent Schlemmer Atlas guide highlights how the kitchen successfully bridges authentic foundations with modern techniques.
The venue sits just off Paul Linke Ufer and trades heavy formalities for a relaxed, social layout. Guests gather around shared tables that encourage conversation while the bar focuses on crisp cocktails and carefully selected natural wines. The founders deliberately kept the lively atmosphere from their earlier events, allowing the room to feel more like a gathering space than a traditional eatery. This approach keeps the pace energetic without sacrificing attention to detail.
