The story
Since 1981, the Kupferkanne has anchored itself in Bad Sobernheim. Doreen and Patrick Wahl now guide the kitchen in its second generation since 2010. Their work balances tradition with fresh ideas in a regional cuisine, focusing on local products from the Naheland area. Staff members apply a creative signature to authentic recipes, maintaining quality across all service periods. Guests encounter classic dishes reinterpreted with contemporary flair, an approach validated by a Schlemmer Atlas rating for food that is "gutbürgerlich und gut gemacht".
This modern German cooking finds expression in the rosa gebratene Entenbrust served alongside a ragout of green asparagus and creamed morels. The Rumpsteak arrives simply, accompanied by fried onions and crisp roast potatoes. Vegetarian diners can order band noodles tossed with fresh chanterelles and Parmesan. Seafood appears as the Lachsmedaillon with cut chives beurre blanc. Desserts include the Parfait von Mandelkrokant with plum compote.
Guests choose between a cozy interior or the sun terrace. Meals range from business lunches to celebratory dinners. The wine list showcases open selections from nearby vineyards, including Riesling from Weingut Emrich-Schönleber. Spätburgunder from Weingut Marx adds depth to the glass. Fresh apple juice and artisanal lemonades complement the menu. Kirner beers and house-made sorbets round out the experience.
