Le Panoramic, Tignes: High-Altitude Grill with 360° Views

At the Top of the Glacier

Le Panoramic sits at 3,032 metres on the Glacier de la Grande Motte, commanding a 360° panorama of the Tignes – Val d’Isère ski area. Accessible by ski lifts or the Perce-Neige funicular, it is the Bouvier family’s high-altitude outpost – a place where skiers and hikers swap boots for slippers and settle into a cosy dining room with a roaring open fireplace.

Cuisine Adapted to Altitude

The kitchen is led by a father-and-son chef duo who specialise in wood-fire cooking. Meats, fish and vegetables are cooked in an immense hearth open to the dining room, producing what the team calls “cuisine brute et gourmande” – direct, generous flavours built on quality produce and precise grilling. This is a grill restaurant that respects the craft: at 3,000 m, water boils at 90°C, caramel takes longer to colour, and every technique has been recalibrated. Expect fresh homemade pasta, an impressive dessert buffet, and a focus on simple, perfect cooking. The menu also includes a cantina section with pizzas, soups, salads and burgers, plus a sunny terrace and takeaway snack area for those who prefer to stay on the move.

Recognition and a Serious Wine Cellar

Le Panoramic was the first mountain restaurant in France to earn the title of Maître-Restaurateur, and its recent Michelin Recommended award confirms the consistency of this high-altitude grill experience. The wine list holds more than 750 references, including a curated collection of Chartreuse – even at 3,032 m. With its dramatic setting, wood-fired fare and genuine mountain hospitality, Le Panoramic is a destination that earns its place on any Alpine food lover’s map.
