The story
Co- Restaurant opened in July 2022 at the Huashang Financial Center, bringing a focused approach to French cuisine in Chengdu. The kitchen builds flavor through layered ingredients where classic techniques form the base, local Sichuan and Chongqing spices provide heat, and a coastal upbringing adds maritime depth. These elements function like concentric circles, complementing each other to expand the possibilities of the menu. This deliberate structure earned a Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Diamond award for 2026.
Spices arrive in measured amounts to preserve clarity across the offerings. Roasted peppers and fermented beans appear alongside delicate proteins, while the kitchen applies French cooking principles to reduce broths. The head chef relies on precise temperature control to highlight individual components rather than masking them. Each dish reflects a careful balance where regional heat meets refined plating standards.
The dining room occupies the thirty-first floor of a contemporary financial tower. Glass partitions and neutral tones create a quiet backdrop that keeps attention on the food. Staff move through the space with unobtrusive pacing, allowing conversations to settle between courses. Lighting remains steady and warm, supporting an unhurried rhythm that matches the careful preparation.
