The story
PhilFa in central Namur serves a revised seasonal cuisine that blends familiar European techniques with unexpected global spices. Fabian Rammeloo and Philippe Legrand opened the doors in 2013, then completely overhauled the operation during a 2020 renovation. Alicia Rammeloo and Leo Afizi now manage daily service alongside the owners. The team prioritizes straightforward execution over theatrical presentations.
The kitchen refreshes its offerings every six weeks to track local harvests and shifting weather patterns. Guests select from two daily compositions featuring grilled meats, fresh fish, and vegetable heavy sides. Aromatic spices from distant regions appear frequently throughout the dishes. This dedication to a flexible seasonal kitchen secured a 12 out of 20 rating from Gault & Millau.
A glass wine cabinet occupies one wall, displaying bottles at accessible price points. Patrons can move to the shaded terrace along the street front whenever conditions allow. Soft materials line the walls inside the main hall, absorbing sound from the busy street. Regulars appreciate how the fifty five indoor chairs maintain a quiet pace despite the steady flow of guests.
