A Heritage Restored

The Griffin Inn occupies Main Road in Plumtree, Nottingham, offering Modern British dishes prepared with seasonal care. This public house dates to 1843, having replaced an earlier establishment called The Plough under the first landlord Thomas Crafts. Current owners spent two years restoring the building before reopening the doors in 2019.

The Kitchen and Selections

The Head Chef and the team focus on freshly cooked plates using high-quality locally sourced produce. Their approach merges comforting classics with contemporary styles, meeting the standard required for the AA Rosette award for culinary excellence. Menus are written in-house and printed daily, ensuring changes follow the season. Guests often order the sumptuous Sunday Lunch, while desserts feature indulgent chocolate creations, seasonal fruit, classic puddings, and artisan cheeses.

Rooms and Garden

The venue provides three distinct areas for dining and drinking. The cosy bar includes crackling fires and welcomes dogs, while the elegant restaurant looks out over the grounds. A sunken Italian-inspired garden offers comfortable sofa seating for outdoor enjoyment. Both the bar and restaurant serve an extensive wine list to accompany the Modern British selection.
