The story
Bocconi brings Fulvio Pierangelini’s vision of honest Italian cooking to the heart of Brussels. His approach strips away excess to focus entirely on sourcing premium seasonal produce and treating it with quiet precision. A team of chefs drawn from across Italy executes this philosophy daily, turning straightforward techniques into deeply considered plates. Small reflections and careful attention are what separate ordinary meals from memorable ones.
The menu leans toward uncomplicated joy, starting with a traditional Spaghetti Pomodoro that highlights ripe tomatoes and balanced acidity. Ravioli alla Carbonara arrive wrapped around pasta sheets cured with guanciale aged by Dierendonk, while a rich lasagne rests on a slow simmered ragù. Local suppliers provide the foundation for these Italian dishes, and the kitchen occasionally features regional staples like puntarella salad when the season calls for it. Less truly becomes more through precise execution.
Located just steps from the Grand-Place, the dining room opens up into a bright space designed for unhurried conversation. Custom artwork by Adam Ellis explores Italy’s theatrical heritage through Commedia dell’Arte figures, displayed alongside individually framed Fornasetti prints that echo those same motifs. Sunlight washes over wooden tables arranged for both swift business lunches and extended Sunday feasts. The Milan-inspired terrace extends the experience outdoors during warmer months.
