The story
Cristian Ianni leads the kitchen at ALBA London, where Amalfi-inspired Italian cooking takes centre stage. The head chef honed his technique across several of the capital’s most recognised Italian restaurants before settling on a menu built around bright southern flavours. He balances rich regional traditions with a contemporary edge, letting seasonal produce dictate the daily offerings. Every plate carries that same sunlit clarity.
The dining room opens directly onto a visible prep area where chefs shape fresh pasta and grill fish over high heat. Guests regularly order the Lobster Linguine and the Crab Ravioli, both relying on simple sauces to highlight delicate shellfish. A playful twist appears on the signature pizza, which pairs fior di latte cheese with soft scrambled eggs and optional black caviar. These preparations earned the kitchen two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.
Architects YODEZEEN mapped the space around a Mediterranean palette of lemon yellow and terracotta. Handmade Venetian terrazzo floors meet yacht-inspired seating from Exteta alongside Loro Piana upholstery. Panoramic windows frame Harrods across the street, while an emerald bar anchors the main hall. A separate boat cabin style suite offers intimate seating for ten guests.
Anna curates a collection focused largely on Italy and France, moving from crisp coastal whites to structured reds. The bespoke Chamber Furniture cellar holds rare icons like Maseto and Soldera. Tables can request a single glass or reserve a bottle for dinner, with service continuing until midnight on weekends. The programme complements the Italian kitchen without overshadowing the food.
