The story
Ristorante Sardegna brings authentic Italian cooking to Frankfurt am Main, built on recipes their mother passed down to brothers Luciano and Michele Piroddi. After Luciano trained in several acclaimed kitchens, the brothers merged regional tradition with lighter Nouvelle Cuisine techniques. Every dish follows a single standard. The food must match the quality of home cooking in Sardinia.
Handmade pasta pockets stuffed with potato, aged Pecorino, and fresh mint arrive coated in a rich porcini sauce and Sardinian sausage. The grill station prepares whole suckling pigs in the traditional island style, while fresh catches like monkfish highlight the coastal Italian kitchen. These consistent preparations recently secured a 1.5 spoon rating from the Schlemmer Atlas.
Michele Piroddi manages the cellar, selecting regional wines that complement the bold island flavors without overpowering them. The venue expanded in 2004 to accommodate a warmer interior that captures a distinct southern atmosphere. Attentive service guides guests through the meal, ending with fried pastry pockets drizzled in warm honey or a smooth amaretto pudding.
